HAS IT ALL.
Up Front: This is an Older Restoration
on a Fairly Straight Old Truck.
The Frame, Chassis, and Driveline
is from a 1986 Chevy 3/4 ton 4X4 Truck.
As you can see from the picture,
The wheel spacing is perfect and
It has the appearance of a
Factory NAPCO 4X4 Truck.
The paint job still has a nice shine to it.
There are spots where touch ups have been done,
but all in all, it still shows well.
I have the original paint can the paint came in
and there is still good paint in it.
The only rust issues this truck had
were under the door sills,
the bottom of both front fenders by the doors,
and both cab rear corners.
The floor boards are very solid.
I hate to say this, but the previous owner
riveted the vintage signs to the doors.
Very small rivets,
but it will still leave small holes if the signs are removed.
The bed has all new wood.
The glass is all intact and decent
Except for the windshield.
It has a small rock chip, wiper marks,
and fogging around the edges.
Door glass rolls up and down very well.
The hood latch must be missing a part,
It does not do the final latch,
just the secondary latch works
There is no problem with it flying open,
but I wanted to mention it.
Lights all work.
Aluminum tool box in the bed.
The Interior is very basic.
The seat coverings are good.
The carpet and dash are just OK.
Radio Delete Plate.
Steering wheel missing small chunk
out of the grip.
There is an under the dash heater that works,
but it is not factory.
Nothing of high quality here.
Driveline Condition: Truck Runs Out Just Fine.
Plenty of Power.
Power Steering and Brakes.
V8 Motor and Automatic Transmission
Engine and Transmission were evidently
both rebuilt at some point.
I took a valve cover off to verify and
found the top of the head was super clean
the valve springs looked new.
Transmission shifts like a new one.
Transfer case works as well as the manual
front hub lockouts.
Tires have lots of tread left.
Brakes Work Just Fine.
There are 2 Exhaust Leaks.
One manifold to pipe gasket, Donut Seal
and a small hole in one muffler.
Newer Aluminum Radiator.
Engine Runs Very Cool.
I will be getting the exhaust, windshield
and hood latch replaced in the next couple weeks.
The price will go up accordingly.
I own 2 of these 1955 4x4s
They Would Make Excellent Shop Trucks.
