 After restoring to original 12 1955 - 1957 T-Birds, I decided to make a hot rod T-Bird. Having had quite a few street rods, I knew what I wanted, so here is the story. I started with a 1955 T-Bird from California. Stripped the car down to nothing, off the frame, stripped the frame completely and blasted everything. Front end was completely rebuilt using D-C Enterprises dropped spindles and disc brakes. Rear end is a S-10 3.73 geared unit mounted with a TCI four link parallel unit. We could now install the Air Ride Technologies Suspension systems. All new brake and fuel lines were made and installed. A new fuel tank was installed. Later a custom exhaust system was designed and installed. Very sweet sound. Extensive body work was done as seen in the picture. Color is DuPont Hot Hues - Sinful Cinnamon. Many coats of base - clear were applied by the best professional painter I know. Dash pieces were sent to Dakota Digital for their expertise in gauges and design. Balance of dash was filled and smoothed for a beautiful custom unit. A custom built console housing all wiring, a 4600 Pioneer Radio and CD, and Vintage Air Controls for heat, air, defrost unit. Rockford - Fosgate speakers - 4 - were used. Not a blaster, but a very nice sound system. Mitsubishi bucket seats were used. Interior is leather and ultra leather - two tone - by Little Sid's Custom Upholstery. Top is custom soft top with tan Hartz cloth. All glass is new including windshield. Trunk is finished to match interior. Doors and trunk are electric units by Specialty Power Windows. Wheels are Helo Renegade 20" and 22". Tires are BFG - G - Force 245 - 35 - 20 and 285 - 35 - 22. Engine is 345 HP - LS-1 with transmission 4L60E with upgrade computer set up and built by Street and Performance. All fender wells and firewall are smooth and nothing is exposed. There are many more items too numerous to go into. This car handles great and is extremely fast and a joy to drive. It has not been out yet except for 100 test miles. Only the best of everything was used in construction. All work was professionally done.
