1959 Ford Thunderbird - Coupe "Squarebird"
9 year old, complete restoration.
Original Arizona car,
restoration by Jim Jacob of Prescott, Arizona.
Restored to a 60 s era, mild custom, for "Show",
but drives very nice.
Original 352 upgraded to a 390ci HD, with
a .060 overbore,
complete rebuilt at 77,350 miles
(current approx 83K).
Original Trans re-built during same time frame.
Reciepts available.
Equipped with an Edelbrock performance cam
and springs suited for the dual Holly Quad system
with K & N Air Filter.
Shelby style Valve covers and matching oil pan.
This is not a Concourse restoration!
Exterior is "Mint Green" with dark green pin striping.
Interior is Velvet, button tuck 60 s style upholstery
with dark green and light green panels on the doors,
short shag carpet, also in a 60 s style.
New radial tires on chromed spoke rims.
I was told they were Kelsey-Hayes, but not confirmed.
Slight rust on rims, but in great shape.
Mufflers are 18" glass packs for that '60 s sound.
Everything is either chromed or painted to include
the chromed drive shaft and chromed Sway bar.
Interior has a stock AM radio,
re-built to an AM-FM digital stereo
with an audio input jack for CD system.
Radio is in original configuration.
A '50 s '60 s ARC 45 RPM automotive record player
case installed under dash, for show only,
as there is no record player in the case.
The record player is available, but is a "Basket Case".
Clock was sent out for repair at the Clockworks,
but has again stopped working.
Heater core is not connected and has been this way
since I took possession of the car 6 years ago.
Unknown if the heater core leaks or not.
Car appraised for insurance purposes,
by Bill Anderson, custom car builder and owner
of Hot Rod Alley in Lompoc, at $30K+.
Always garaged, when not being shown
and has never seen rain since I have owned it.
This is a definite MUST SEE to appreciate.
Car has won numerous awards in the local,
Central Coast of California car show circuit.
First place in the Mini-Concourse Show,
'59 Thunderbird Coupe class,
2005 Fabulous Fords show, Buena Park.
