Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Fire!
This red hot flaming classic is a proven award winner
with a mere 8k miles on the clock
since it s comprehensive restoration in 2004
There is no mistaking the exterior stock appearance
of this beautiful Bel Air Coupe,
but what this car has become is a far cry from
the machine that rolled off the factory floor in 1960.
Mercy! After 47 years, the venerable 283 cid V8
has undergone a major facelift that boosts the engine
output to an estimated 340 horsepower.
The cylinders have been bored to .60 over
and the engine has been completely rebuilt
with Comp Cams cam, Roller valve train,
Heavy duty timing chain, New World heads,
Edelbrock Air Gap manifold, Edelbrock 4 bbl carb,
Heavy duty oil pump, Heavy duty water pump,
HEI distributor and Awesome dual exhaust.
Coupled to the engine is a close ratio
4 speed transmission and new drive line.
SS Cragar wheels, Front & rear poly bushings,
Front disc brakes, Rear drum brakes,
Shocks, Power steering system,
All new glass,
Front & rear bumpers, Grille,
Other features and tasteful touches include 6
(three per side) custom sequential Cadillac bullet taillights.
Interior is finished with gorgeous red & gray naugahyde
upholstery & red carpet.
Original dash is updated with new
Classic Industries white faced gauges.
It s worth noting that this car does not squeak,
rattle, whistle, chirp or thump.
It's as tight and quiet as it was when it was new.
Silver flames outlined in yellow pin-striping
begin at the front of the hood and sweep back
into a deep righteous red .
The overall effect is stunning and contributes greatly
to this project's list of recent awards including:
