200HP 215CID Original Aluminum engine Power Steering, Original Automatic Dual Path Transmission, Original Blue Interior with low back bucket seats, interior is the original interior and does have some fading. Chrome is in good condition, car is driven weekly and has been regularly maintained, I believe the paint to be original with only minor blemishes, paint appears to be the older single stage enamel and shines well, power convertible top is in good working order, back glass is clear. Car is white with white top. Mechanically the car drives out well, the motor runs strong and the transmission shifts smoothly, I frequently take it to cruise-ins and local car shows. Items that may be addressed: Speedometer was not working when I purchased the car approximately 3 years ago, (it registers approximately 48,000 miles) the problem is the lack of a cable, according to the previous owner, the transmission was rebuilt and cable was lost and never replaced. I have a "one size cut to length generic cable" but have not been able to locate the true replacement part and have not repaired it. Front glass has a small rock chip in the upper shaded area. There is not any underbody rust but I did notice about a quarter size "bubbling" of the paint on the rear quarter drivers side just above the wheelwell this summer, car has always been garaged. This is a rare car as Buick only produced approximately 10,000 Skylark convertibles in 1963 and only a few of them with the High-Performance Aluminum V-8. 1963 was also the only year for this particular Skylark body, it is slightly larger than the 1962 and smaller than the 1964. I don't think that you will find a more original unrestored Buick in this condition. Car is located in Pleasureville, Kentucky USA (about 40 miles north east of Louisville). Price is firm at $15,000 My email is jbem83@aol.com. Please feel free to contact me for additional information and pictures. |
