![]() This is a very special and rare example of Studebaker's last gasp attempt at keeping up with Detroit's big 3 in the muscle car era. It is an ORIGINAL numbers matching 1964 Gran Turismo Hawk with the R2 factory- supercharged motor. Just to relate some statistics - 1964 was the final year for Studebaker Hawk production. A total of 70 1964 Gran Turismo Hawks were factory equipped with the R2 Supercharged engine. Nine years ago there were only 24 R2 '64 Hawks known remaining and this is one of only 11 known R2 non-package cars. It is perhaps the best original unrestored example in existence. It is a truly mint survivor. I don't know of any other comparable 'survivor' R2 Hawk cars. I was fortunate to have obtained it from the estate of the original owner and enjoyed this car for 28 years. It also has an interesting history since it was supplied to the original owner as a factory warranty replacement for a defective '63 R2 Hawk. It presently has only 62,000 miles. Car is presently in heated storage in Massachusetts and is driven occasionally to keep everything in perfect working order. This is a truly unique opportunity for someone to own one of the rarest pieces from the American 'muscle car' era. Price is $58,000. Call 519-927-3966 for more information. Serious inquiries only please. More pictures on request. |
