It is 1 of 182 1965 Dodge Coronet 2 door hardtops
built in 1965 and the last 426 auto street wedge
built on July 25 th.
The cars history is documented and
the data plate is decoded by Mr. Galin V. Govier
along with his letter placing the car in
the Chrysler registry as # 9 of 11 U.S. delivered
that year.
Documentation includes original invoice
from dealer,
canceled checks and receipts from
original transaction,
Govier reports, original documents from
Republic National bank in Dallas
dated Aug. 21 1968
showing paid in full for loan,
copy of title from second and third owners,
original letter from Mr. Byron Nichols
Vice president and general manager of
Dodge Division thanking Mr. Drake
for his purchase,
original owners manual and warranty papers
and several photos of the car when delivered
to Mr. Drake all in a hard bound album.
In '65 Chrysler products came with plugs
in the grease ports in the suspension
because the said they didn't need greasing
for the first 30,000 miles,
this car has those plugs still in place
(I have removed them to grease and
replaced them).
In aprox. 2001 the third owner started
a pro. restoration of the car because of
some aging issues that needed to be addressed,
they included complete rebuild of the drive line,
body and interior restoration to original specs.,
Everything is as original except for the
Edelbrock carb and The B.F.G. radial tires
that I installed for performance reasons
(I have the original 8.25x14 tires that go
with the car),
The motor was rebuilt with max wedge heads
and street hemi purple cam
which really enhance performance,
The car is very fast and has approximately
500 miles since pro. rebuild.
The car is as close to perfect as you can find
and I have detailed it both looks wise
and mechanical wise.
It runs and drives like new,
looks like new and has no hidden problems.
