1966 Mercury Meteor Montcalm - ALL ORIGINAL AND UNTOUCHED
SINCE THE FACTORY.
Only in Canada, Eh?
This 1966 Mercury Meteor Montcalm was only built in,
and available to Canada.
It is a 18.5 foot long, two-door coupe,
with tu-tone paint and power steering.
I purchased it from the original owner in Victoria, B.C, Canada in 1989,
who had kept it in his garage since buying it new.
At the time it had 79,200 miles on it.
Currently this classic has 115,000 miles and still runs like a Swiss Watch.
The car has never seen a snow flake,
and has earned a trunk full of trophies at professionally judged shows
averaging from 300 to 1300 participants.
The ONLY thing on this car that has been touched since it left the factory,
is the timing chain at 80,000, and the tires, which are brand new Dunlop radials.
Even the floor pans; inside the fenders, doors, and trunk, etc.,
are immaculate.
It has a unique sloped rear window,
and all the glass is still original with the FoMoCo insignia.
The 289 motor gives great performance for a Cruiser,
and averages about 20 mpg or so.
This car is very literally a turn key car,
and I would not hesitate driving it across the continent (again) at any time.
Although it s not a Mustang or Lincoln,
it turns many heads when people see it,
and the ride it gives is like riding in a big wad of bubble gum
that handles well.
I have had the car professionally appraised twice in the 12 years
I have owned it;
once in 1990 for $9,000 Canadian, and then in the year 2000
by the former president of the Canadian Antique Automobile Association,
for $12,000 Canadian.
Obviously the value of this car increases with age,
and, besides being a good investment,
its truly a pleasure to drive and own.
I would consider delivering the vehicle most anywhere
in North America.
Buy my baby before I change my mind about selling it.
