American Dream Cars has its foundations going back some twenty years. I was visiting friends in Miami, Florida and one day met a guy from Sweden. I sold and exported a 1959 Cadillac Coupe De Ville to him and that was the beginning. In the years that have followed I have exported hundreds of collectable American cars. Most have gone to Sweden with a few being shipped to Finland, Norway, Germany and Belgium. I have also shipped hundreds of tons of spare parts. In 1991, with the collapse of Communism and the break-up of the Soviet Union, I traveled east into Estonia. On my second trip to Tallinn, Estonia I drove a 1971 Cadillac convertible. This was probably the first Eldorado convertible ever driven in the Baltic States. The car created much excitement as it was driven through the streets of Old Town. As far as I know, that car is still in the Baltic and no doubt giving someone a lot of pleasure. Although I have shipped a few vintage cars into the Baltics, the real interest in this part of the world is in late model cars. Since shipping that first Cadillac into Estonia, I have exported several hundred late models into Estonia, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Russia. The main interest has been in Jeeps and minivans, but I have also shipped several Chrysler Neons and assorted other cars. I have also shipped spare parts to support the repair and maintainance of these cars. Lynn Nelson |
